DISCOVER ZAGREB

First day should be introductory to your visit. Let’s start with heading to the city center, to Tkalčićeva street for Otto & Franck Zagreb specialty breakfast. Visit the Dolac open air market. This is an ideal starting point of visiting the Upper Town, both Kaptol and Grič. Try the shortest funicular in the world, get to know Ilica street. After midday have a stroll from the main square through Zrinjevac towards the Art Pavilion. It is not demanding to visit, and it is a great place to enjoy art. Decide on having an early dinner on city’s terraces in the center.

In the morning head to visit Mirogoj Cemetary. Whichever season it is, this place will take your breath, both by its nature and by the powerful history engraved in its monuments. From here visit by bus or car the Medvednica Park with Medvedgrad. Have bean soup with sausage on the very top. Here you can also visit the Veternica Cave. For dinner, settle in one of the city’s best grill places or pubs (Grana Grill, Rougemarin bistrot)

Have a morning coffee and a stroll at Bundek Lake. Visit to Museum of Contemporary Art nearby. Give yourself afternoon time for nice urban shopping at Avenue Mall and Arena. Finish the day at Il Secondo or Paesano restaurants in this area.

Go behind Medvednica mountain and visit the castle of Trakošćan and later Marija Bistrica. Besides Zagorje, you can head to different directions, and plan a meal at Kezele Restaurant or visit Karlovac and Aquatika aquarium. This is a nice individual drive or as a booked excursion.
